Ekaterina Anchevskaya debuts a photo series capturing the construction process of the Annapurna skatepark in Nepal and its first visitors for Another Man magazine in October 2017.

Built in April 2017, Annapurna Skatepark is the first international standard skatepark in the landlocked Himalayan nation of Nepal. Constructed with Make Life Skate Life at the helm of operations and acting as the meeting point of numerous different crews from around the globe, the project is a truly international and community-driven effort. Combining the support of local skaters, as well as volunteers and builders from more than 20 other countries, 110+ cubic meters of concrete were poured and sculpted to take theform of this authentic concrete park. Ekaterina’s photo series showcases the community spirit as well as the hard graft behind the skateparks construction.

Biography

Ekaterina Anchevskaya is a documentary photographer and filmmaker. She has been documenting stories in Eastern Europe, Siberia, the Middle East and Caucasus and the Himalayas. Her work is focused on the lives of those neglected by society and those experiencing hardships, and the connection between humans and the environment. She always tries to build a confiding relationship with characters spending a lot of time with them in order to showcase their emotions and capture the atmosphere of the place. She is interested in studying memory and human behavior in the light of history and political situations.
